Good idea! I’ll make my next purchase through your store. You deserve the kickback for all you’re offering up for free. One question, though… where’d those two Japanese grammar books go? The ones with lightbulbs on the front? I was totally going to buy them eventually, but I just kind of counted on them staying around your sidebar. Can’t find them in your store.

You get a percentage of the something if we buy something from the places after getting to them via your website, right? I’d love to help, but you don’t have Amazon.ca up here 🙂 that’s the online place I’m most likely to buy from, seeing as, well… I live in Canada 🙂

    Looks great!
I do have a bit of a request, could you possibly add a link to a store that would sell Japanese TV (with commercials and all), I’ve torn apart the internet and have yet to find this, and Japanese TV is of course not available where I live?

    Thanks!

Seth, they’re in an earlier post. If you look in the “books” category on this site, you’ll find them. They books supporting the method that we all follow here, essentially.

Depends on your area, but you may be able to find some local stuff… do some google searching for “Japanese book store” or “Japanese food store” or similar things.

In San Diego and Los Angeles they have Book off which is simply amazing, you can buy all sorts of used books for 1$ each, and they also have a good selection of Japanese programs and American series dubbed in Japanese.

Also, in Virginia where I am now, I’ve found a couple of small family owned shop type places that stock a limited supply of videos…. one of which is just strait recorded from the TV so it includes all of the commercials.

Other than that, there are a few online services that offer Japanese TV (most for free) try keyhole TV… there are few others but I don’t remember them off had.

itunes also has several video blogs which are quite interesting.

And then of course there are bit torrents if all else fails.

www.justin.tv/directory?order=hot&lang=ja is far better than keyhole or livestation IMO

Question to Europeans, Every time I try to buy Sony playstation games on amazon jp/Yesasia or playasia it’s says this item is not available to your area (Ireland). I heard that Sony had stopped Japanese imports of their products into Europe. anyone know any thing about this or a way around it.

    @Scuba
I’m in Virginia, but haven’t had a lot of luck finding anything local. Have any store names you might toss my direction?

Katz, I think I could pay to have the sidebar on your site back on the right side. 🙁

  15. May 23, 2009 at 02:48

I concur with Daniel. I don’t mind the ads, but the sidebar change somehow makes the layout look cramped… makes it look claustrophobic somehow.

    Wooo! More immersion!

    I’d totally donate…if I had a job 🙁

Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks, you’re the best! AJATT has completely turned around my Japanese study method. I’m not so worried anymore about my SRS reps and struggling to memorize them. I just know that growth is an inevitable result of one’s quest for joy.

Hey Katz, these sites require a credit card, do you know any site where you can buy japanese books and pay with paypal?

Hey, Yaltafa, I double checked with Khatz and you can pay with PayPal at YesAsia. Click here to link to their Japanese books section.

Khatz has written an article on YesAsia here, if you want more information about the site.
