The Trick to Reading More and Faster

Is to buy more books and turn more pages. The more pages you see, the more you’re likely to read. Which is not take to say that you’ll read every word on every page, but that was never the point.

There is a feedback loop-punctuated casual chain here that you can enter from any point. Most people try to force themselves to read more and faster by moving their eyes more or allocating more (unbroken) time to reading. These strategies aren’t inherently wrong, it’s just that depending on them exclusively is unnecessarily limiting.

Top-down work tends to be noble; bottom-up hacking tends to be effective and sustainable.
