Hey gang.
Just to let you know that SilverSpoon BigBoi: The SilverSpoon for Post-RTKers, will be launched on September the 1th. Um…there’ll be a special pre-launch thingy for AJATT+ darlings and people who’ve shown their undying loyalty to AJATT by previously purchasing quality products 1 at the AJATT Store.
These True Believers in the One True Way of AJATT (AJATT+/AJATT Store customers) will get the chance to join BigBoi before the official launch, in “Round 0”, that is to say:
- At lower prices than everyone else in the entire world
- Free from worry about headcount limits and narrow time windows
- With a coupla freebies to boot.
Such is the reward of the meek and faithful.
Good gosh.
On a serious note, I’m really excited about having a post-RTK SilverSpoon, actually. I was initially ambivalent about splitting off a SilverSpoon variant — AJATT.com is already confusing enough as it is! But the more I thought about it and mapped it out, the more I realized how sweet it would be. At a purely personal level, it’s great to have a chance to work with people who are so smart and demonstrably self-motivated, and I’m really flattered that there are those of you out there who would choose to use SilverSpoon.
More importantly, there are phenomena like:
- the (in)famous post-RTK sophomore slump — the one where people run through RTK like a champ and then proceed to totally fall off the wagon — and
- the (in)famous intermediate slump — the one where people fall off the wagon because they can’t feel themselves moving forward even though they actually are — Leonard’s Mastery plateaux spring to mind)
- the (in)famous never-ending monolingual transition — the one where people never quite get themselves to really turn Japanese and start using Japanese to learn itself
And it’s precisely these treacherous interim(?) waters — where many a Japanese dreamboat has sunk unnecessarily 2 — that SilverSpoon will safely navigate you through. If you make it in, that is 😛 , given that time and numbers are limited.
SilverSpoon: Structure Without Stricture. It’s here. It’s real. It’s happening. I like starting sentences with “it’s”, and I look forward to seeing you.
I was hoping something like this would come around. I’d like to get in on the prelaunch, although I’m just a long time lurker and not a previous product purchaser. This is the type of product i’ve been waiting for.
I’m getting this right when it comes out. Heck yes.
I wasn’t looking at SS before, but now, I’m seriously considering…
If you are a previous purchaser (I bought a video), how do you go about getting the password to access the protected post? Enquiring minds need to know.
Sent out an email. Did you get it?
Ah yes. Different email account is registered for paypal. So if anyone else is in same situation remember to check the email account you have linked to your paypal if it’s not your everyday one!
Hey Khatz- I didn’t get that email, even though i’ve purchased mfsp.
Strange, I also did not get that email, even though I purchased something
Ditto. I just sent Khatz my order information (it’s stamped on each page of mfsp). Maybe everyone else who was left behind should do the same?
I hope it could have an affordable price for me è.é
You changed, man…
Sounds pretty nice. We’ll see when the price is announced…although I would have to restart RTK, since I am partway in. Wouldn’t be too bad though.
i can’t help but feel this would have been more beneficial to get than the round 10 silver spoon i just signed up for not too long ago. i suppose it can’t possibly hurt too much to go over the kanji again thru the regular SS, but i’m hoping this isn’t going to come out at a lower price than SS just costed me, because i’ve been done with RTK for quite some time now…
Shawn » You’re fine. In AJATTland, it’s always cheaper to purchase earlier 🙂
Will there be a version of this just for the monolingual transition? I think I’m hooked up on Japanese media (mostly reading and dramas) pretty well so I don’t really need any encouragement to move forward, but I’m addicted to various 和英辞典 for some reason and just can’t let myself trust 和和 definitions unless they actually make more sense to me than the corresponding 和英 glosses. I do look at them often since it’s only a button push away on my Casio e-dictionary and you can hear the proper pronunciations in 和和 dictionaries which really helps. Maybe it’s not a big deal since I know that monolinguicity will become natural eventually provided I get enough exposure to the language, but I’d like to get rid of the clutches sooner rather than later if there is an easy way to do so.
Anyone else wondering where the signup page is? Do I fail at internetting? Been compulsively refreshing the main page every few minutes to see if Khatz just forgot to post it up.
