Ip Man. Award-winning hagiography. And the subject of today’s post. This is the scene where Ip Man’s wife has just totally had it with people having fights in her house. She’s not having any more of it and lets herself be heard. I love Cantonese.
打咩嘢打?!你當我屋企係武館呀?隨便入嚟打打殺殺?!即刻扯!
Hit what hit? You think my house kung-fu place? Any time, come in, hit hit kill kill!?! Get out now!

I’m channelling Dat Phan‘s mum a bit with the translation there…
WOOOT! I understood her line without reading the translation! AND I could read it all correct!
Thanks for another one(moarrrr)!
Really enjoyed this film, and second one too. I watched it in Mandarin, but I think the dubbing was good quality.
I love it how I can understand whole sentences now and then when watching Chinese films, even though I’ve only learned 640 or so 汉字 and probably only 100 words. Every time I re-watch a movie after a break of a few weeks it feels like I understand that little bit more. Movies provide tangible signs of progress, and that is great for motivation. ^^
Any time, come in, hit hit kill kill!?!
暈低啊,Khats,你D翻譯好鬼搞笑啊.
